Introduction
TrueCals (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a minimalist daily health tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address for authentication purposes.
Health & Nutrition Data: Calories, macros (protein, carbs, fat), daily tasks, and daily scores you log are stored in your account via our cloud service (Supabase).
HealthKit Data: With your permission, we read step count data from Apple Health. This data is displayed in the app and is not sent to any third party.
Camera & Food Scans: When you use the AI food scanner, images are sent to our AI service for analysis. Images are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide calorie, macro, and task tracking services
- To calculate and display your daily score
- To sync your data across your devices
- To analyze food images via AI for nutritional information
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase for authentication and data storage
- OpenAI for AI-powered food recognition
- Apple HealthKit for step count data (with your permission)
- Expo for push notifications
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Supabase Row Level Security, and authenticated access controls to protect your data.
Your Rights
- You can delete your meal history at any time from the app
- You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings
- You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings
- You can disable notifications at any time
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed from our servers.
