Introduction
Weqaya ("we", "our", "us") is a scam detection and awareness application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address.
Scan Data: Text and images you submit for scam analysis are processed by our AI service. Scan results are stored in your account history if you are signed in.
Reports: When you report a scam or mark "This happened to me", we store the report along with your user ID.
Comments: Comments you post on scam entries are publicly visible and stored with your display name.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide scam detection and analysis services
- To maintain your scan history and account
- To improve our scam database based on community reports
- To send scam alerts and notifications (with your permission)
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and storage
- OpenRouter / Anthropic for AI-powered scam analysis
- Expo for push notifications
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, and authenticated access controls to protect your data.
Your Rights
- You can delete your scan history at any time from the app
- You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings
- You can delete your own comments
- You can disable notifications at any time
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed.
